Rainbow Effects

This didn’t turn out exactly how it looked in my head when I planned the design, but it still came out as a nice, subtle design appropriate for work or a night out.  I hoped that the rainbow effect would be more prominent, but a lighter base color would be necessary for that.

I used Gelish “Black Shadow” as the base, with a swipe of the following Gelish colors (pinky to thumb) on top:

• Little Miss Sparkle
• A New Sunrise Sparkle
• Izzy wizzy Let’s Get Busy
• Close Your Fingers and Cross Your Eyes
• Great Googly Moogly
• Oocha Coocha Bing Bang Bam Alakazy Alakazam
• Wiggle Fingers Wiggle Thumbs, That’s the Way the Magic Comes
• Ali Baba’s Sim Sala Bam

Pink to Purple Gelish Ombre

For this design I used Gelish. I embeded the pink fimo leaf in Structure gel.  After filing and prepping I applied Foundation, as usual. The base color all over the nail is Ali Baba’s Sim Sala Bam.  Then I used  the following to make the ombre from base to tip:

• It’s a Lily
• Plum and Done
• Tasty Eggplant
• Cocktail Party Drama

At the tip, just before applying Top It Off, I added a dab more of Ali Baba’s Sim Sala Bam to give the tip some sparkle. I thought it looked great; I just wish it had been more opaque. What do you think?
